I was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico and raised in Chicago’s Humboldt Park neighborhood. I attended Northeastern Illinois University and received a Bachelor of Arts in Education. I have had a varied career. From teacher aide to teacher, to a unit supervisor in the insurance industry. I transitioned to a career in technology obtaining Certification from DePaul University.
After 25 years in the business world, I returned to teaching realizing how much I enjoyed the children and their love for learning. Although retired, I continue to substitute and work as an interventionist. I am a mother of three and a grandmother. Raising my children and watching how my grandchildren grow are the things that bring me the most joy. I have always enjoyed writing and felt that now was a time to share my thoughts with others. With new inspirations, I am looking ahead to new adventures. Remember, every day is a good day to learn something new!
Nací en Arecibo, Puerto Rico y criada en el barrio de Humboldt Park de Chicago. Asistí a la Universidad Northeastern Illinois y recibí una licenciatura en educación. He tenido una carrera variada. De ayudante de maestro a maestra, a una supervisora de unidad en la industria de seguros. Hice la transición a una carrera en tecnología y obtuve certificación de la Universidad DePaul. Después de 25 años en el mundo de los negocios, mi di cuenta de cuánto he disfrutado los niños y su amor por el aprendizaje y volví a enseñar. Aunque estoy retirada, sigo sustituyendo en las escuelas y trabajando como un intervencionista. Soy madre de tres y una abuela. Criar a mis hijos y ver cómo crecen mis nietos es lo que me llena de alegría. Siempre he disfrutado de escribir y siento que ahora es el momento para compartir mis pensamientos con los demás. Con nuevas inspiraciones, estoy mirando adelante a nuevas aventuras. Recuerde, ¡Cada día es un buen día para aprender algo nuevo!
